🛡️ Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Dewiride Dev Blogs ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you submit through our contact forms or when you interact with our services.
Location Data
We collect your approximate location using your IP address when you submit a support or contact form. This helps us better understand our audience and improve our services. The location data is collected via a third-party geolocation service (such as ipapi.co) and may include country, city, region, and other non-precise details.
Usage Data
We may collect information about how you access and use the website, including your browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs. Section 4 sets out exactly what our analytics record, how long each part is kept, and how to prevent it.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain our website and services
- To respond to your inquiries and provide support
- To improve our website, services, and user experience
- To analyze usage and trends to better understand our audience
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website and providing our services (such as geolocation providers, advertising networks, and email services). We may also disclose your information if required by law.
Our own analytics are the exception rather than the rule here: as described in section 4, we run Dewiride Analytics on our own server, so that measurement data is never handed to a third party at all.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and improve our website. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure which articles readers find useful and where our visitors come from. We use this only in aggregate — we do not attempt to identify individual visitors. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Dewiride Analytics (self-hosted)
We also use Dewiride Analytics, our own open-source analytics software, which we run on our own server at analytics.dewiride.com. Because we host it ourselves, this measurement data is not sent to any third party — it stays on infrastructure we operate, and it is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser — no cookies, no local storage, no session storage. It runs a small script on our pages, plus a one-pixel image for readers whose browsers do not run JavaScript.
For each page view it records:
- The page address on this site, the address that referred you, and the time.
- What your browser volunteers about itself — browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and time-zone offset. Where a browser volunteers nothing, we record "not known" rather than guessing.
- How the page was read: roughly how long it held your attention, how far down you scrolled, and whether any pointer or keyboard interaction happened — never what was typed, never where on the screen you pressed, and never the contents of any form.
- Which links and buttons were used, recorded as our own visible wording on the control and where it pointed. Never anything you typed.
Your IP address is used to work out an approximate country, town and network operator, and is then erased 72 hours after collection by an automatic rule in the database. The town is an estimate and is described as one.
To recognise a returning reader within a single day, we derive a key from your IP address and browser using a random value that is replaced every day. This is deliberate: it means the same reader cannot be linked from one day to the next, and it is why our figures count daily visitors rather than unique people over time.
Measurement records are deleted automatically 12 months after collection.
If you would rather not be measured, blocking analytics.dewiride.com in your browser, an extension, or your network will stop it completely and will not affect how this site works. Please note that this software does not currently act on the Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control browser signals.
5. Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Advertising revenue helps keep this site free.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:
- Google Ads Settings: adssettings.google.com
- Opt out of third-party vendor cookies: optout.aboutads.info
- Google's own policy: How Google uses information from sites that use its services
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalised advertising cookies are set. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the privacy controls on this site.
Every advertisement on this site is clearly labelled Advertisement and visually separated from our articles. Advertisements are selected and served by Google, not by us — we do not review, verify, or endorse advertisers or their products.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@dewiride.com.
